The Southern Baptist Convention is producing a new hymnal [“Baptist Hymnal”] for Southern Baptist. It is being called a Worship Project. This will not only be a hymn book as we know it but will offer all kinds of additional resources for those who want to use them. Those additional resources are visual images and texts, recordings and accompaniment tracks, charts for orchestra/ensemble players, to name a few things.

The new hymnal contains more than 670 hymns and worship songs and responsive readings: a lot of old hymns and tunes but new ones as well. The Worship Project will be premiered at Music Week at Ridgecrest this summer and materials will be available this fall (2008).
