How do I get there?

We are located at 400 South Main St., 2 blocks south of the courthouse square.

Where do I park?
We have 2 large parking lots located North and South of the church. In the South parking lot are spaces reserved just for our visitors like you. There is also street parking in front of the church and behind the church. If you need handicap parking these spaces are directly behind the church on 1st St. Street Map

Where do I go?
If you are coming for worship the best place to enter the sanctuary is the front doors on Main St. If you are coming for Sunday School there are main entrances on each side street and 1st St behind the church. Greeters are placed at each entrance to help you find your way.

Where do my kids go?
Please make reference to the floor layout by selecting this link. 1st Floor Plan.

If you have babies through Kindergarten enter through the 5th Ave door. You immediately walk into the preschool area. The nursery is to your left and contains the birth – 2 yr olds. The 3, 4, and Kindergarten ages are in the rooms on your right. We follow the same age placement as the public school. There is a September 1st cutoff date for placement of children 2 yrs – 5 yr olds. Children who are in kindergarten in school will go to the 5 yr old room. Our Baby Bed room is for babies up to the time they begin to walk well and then we move them to the 1 yr old room. For our infants or visitors of any age, we have a pager to send with you if you like so we can notify you if you are needed.

2nd Floor Plan. For children 1st grade – 6th grades, their rooms are located on the second floor. The easiest entrance is the doors under the drive thru on 1st St. Just as you enter the doors there is an elevator to your right. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Step off the elevator and turn right, you are now in the children’s area. The rooms have signs identifying the grades.

Our youth, 7th – 12th grade have a large area off of the 4th Ave entrance. In this area is a large assembly room with individual classrooms off to the side. For the youth is a game room and snack area. If you are already inside the church, ask someone to take you to our youth area known as The GAP. Back to Top

Both of our services are identical with the exception of special music and adult choir anthem. There is a small adult choir at the 8:45 that usually sings from a hymnal, and occasionally special music is presented at the 8:45.

As you enter our sanctuary an usher will greet you and hand you a printed worship bulletin. Just before worship begins one of our ministers will make announcements. The piano and organ will then begin the service with a prelude. Included in our services is congregational singing of hymns and /or choruses, an invocation, a welcome and an informal greeting of those sitting around you. You will not be singled out, asked to stand and be recognized as a visitor, but we would appreciate it if you will fill out a guest card located in the pew and then drop in the offering plate when passed.

As the service continues the children are called forward for a children’s sermon. If you have a child that will not come forward on his own, please walk to the front with them if you like. They will receive a Children's Worship Bulletin when they return to their seat. One of our deacons will deliver the offertory prayer and the ushers will pass the offering plate. The adult choir sings an anthem, and sometimes there is special music in the form of a solo, ensemble, or instrumental. The pastor will read the scripture for that day and then deliver his sermon. We always have an invitational hymn for those who want to come forward to join the church or to just ask for prayer.

There is a nursery during any worship time for infants – 3 yr olds.

Our 7:00 pm evening service is much the same but a bit more informal. The youth choir usually sings during this service.

Once a quarter we have the Lord’s Supper at both of the morning services. Baptism is held usually during the 11:00 service when needed. Back to Top

On Sunday mornings for the most part adults still wear their “Sunday Best”. The men in our congregation wear anything from suits to casual pants and shirts. The ladies wear dresses, skirts or suits. Some come in slacks. Sunday evenings are more casual, you see fewer suits and many ladies in slacks. We welcome you how ever you come dressed. Back to Top

On Sunday evenings we have activities for all age groups. Refer to our weekly Newsletter for information. There is a nursery during any of these times for infants – 3 yr olds. Back to Top

There are three ways to become a member:
By Profession of Faith and Baptism – Those making a public profession of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are received into the membership awaiting baptism.
By Letter from another Baptist Church – For persons who are members of another Baptist church. We will write to the previous church for transfer of letter.
By Statement of Faith – For persons who are saved and have been baptized by immersion but are not members of another Baptist Church.

We ask that you come forward during the invitational hymn at any of the services. The pastor will be down front to greet you and present you to the church. Afterwards you remain at the front of the church and the church family comes forward to welcome you into our church family. We also take a picture of you to publish in our weekly newsletter and on our website. Back to Top
